The goal for the Dillinger Tamper was to create a tamper that's as tough as the toughest barista. Most tampers are just made of unhardened stainless steel. They get dented and scratched in a busy cafe. Not much to rave about.
So we used a vacuum hardened stainless steel. It's three times harder than a regular tamper, and will stand up to a lot of rough treatment.
